East Midlands Today studio is 'out of action' and showing Midlands Today here in the region. Technical problems or keeping numbers down due to Covid restrictions? I don't even remember this happening in the first lockdown.

Hijacking the thread slightly, but still EMT themed.

Just realised this Thursday will be the 30th anniversary of the first East Midlands Today. Are we likely to have anything special for the anniversary?

A token acknowledgement accompanied by poor quality clips of old title sequences etc ripped off of YouTube might be about as good as it gets...

Don't know how relevant this is, but Radio Nottingham seems to be fully operational and having to make changes in order to cover today's football

No reason why they couldn't travel to Preston as the guidelines permit travel for work purposes, so this would be an internal decision unless there are reasons they can't be accommodated at Preston (not enough space in the commentary positions perhaps).

It's a decision by BBC Local Radio management, apparently. Some stations are taking a commentary from the home team's station, others are doing off tube, some are using local freelancers.

They could have done, but I don't think such a thing is kosher at the Beeb, (despite the incredibly low turnover of stories over the day on regional bulletins)

It should do. Whatever the issue was seemed to be fixed for the teatime bulletin yesterday.
