It was naff because it was produced by Sky news just like I found 5 News naff when it was produced by Sky & vastly superior when produced by ITN. I am sure ITN could do a classier version of RISE on a cheap budget
I can't help but think thejules isn't even old enough to remember RI:SE, let alone The Big Breakfast and the Channel 4 Daily.
Can you remember it? I'm presuming you are born in 2001.
At the end of the day the (very small) market is saturated. Breakfast and Sky Sunrise cover the news, while GMB is a lighter alternative. I don't believe a breakfast show on C4 would work.

It could work - similar to CNN's New Day maybe - that would be great!

I think ITN could make a good job of it. There are enough decent people floating around in various places across the board from 5 News, BBC, Sky and ITV as well and even the likes of some of he people who have jumped ship from the likes of London Live that could make a solid job of it. it could be a really interesting melting pot that one.
There's no way Channel 4 will start doing a new breakfast show, news-based or otherwise. It would cost too much money for starters. Just showing endless repeats of 'Everybody Loves Raymond' etc is a lot more cost effective.
There's about as much chance of this happening as there is of ITN launching a new news channel (another fantasy idea regularly floated in this parish).
Indeed C4 had to cut 50m from their primetime budget last year. There is almost zero chance of them investing in the infrastructure for a new breakfast show.
