Bit of an unusual, half-arsed launch this isn't it.

No new set/studio - new to World, but we're all familiar with it through Marr, Sunday Politics and Newsnight - but the graphics, titles and music are going to be tweaked.

How long before Studio C goes on air - that's what I'm really looking forward to.

So basically your first point is null.

Why?

You said that there is no new set, but it's new to World - so it's new, then.

But it's not got any surprises for us.

Well that's not a problem for 99.9% of viewers of BBC World News.

BBC World News may be airing Newsnight on a weekly basis, but we do not exactly see the full studio because all I see is the one camera where the "weekly presenter" is talking to, and the black & purple studio lighting.

Is anyone filming the transition from last TVC bulletin to first NBH broadcast?

I do.

I hope I could, but the problem is BBC WN is still broadcasting in 14:9 here in the Philippines.

Satellite?

Same here.

Satellite?

Most likely, since Philippines is the only country in Southeast Asia that broadcasts in American NTSC.
The only one that I know that also broadcasts in NTSC in Asia is Japan.

Am I right in thinking the BBC Two World News bulletin at 11:30 will be the last at TVC and the bulletin on BBC Four will be the first chance to see the new studio and graphics on UK TV?

Ok, it's clearly the last day when you have a decade old image of Gwyneth Paltrow winning an Oscar on newswall instead of markets graphics during WBR. Laughing

BBC NBH's World Service TV studio reminds me of N9, with its small studio & small desk.

After more than a decade that epic WBR theme is now part of history. Final WBR from TVC just ended.

Hope they give us full countdown one final time at top of this hour.

Does BBC World News often use a shortened news title sequence in place of the channel ident before programmes? That's how they went into SportsDay.

Also, I thought I was watching Sky News when I heard Qatar Airways sponsoring the weather!? LOL

For odd reasons, they use a shortened version of the ident before Sport Today & Asia Business Report.

Full 9 second countdown it was. Rolling Eyes

Nice to have one of the veteran presenters (Gowing) doing the final hour.

By the way, where is BBC World (James) at this historic moment for BBC World? Miss his posts.

Thanks, the last time I paid this much attention to BBC World News was when I was watching it in Japan a couple of years back now
