I'm guessing Chris Rogers is on tonight , as Chris Eakin had been on location over the weekend, but was Ellie Crisell standing in for 'someone' last night, as it's not very often she is on in the evenings, plus she did disappear to do the 8pm BBC One headlines as well?

Ellie Crisell was sitting in for Joanna Gosling last night on the 6.30pm shift. She's been doing this shift a fair bit recently - I suppose it saves the Beeb some money, by using the 8pm summary presenter who's already around, rather than bringing in a separate relief presenter. And yes, she did go off around 8pm to do the 90 secs update on BBC1.
I wonder why they never use Riz Lateef on the News Channel on a Friday night when she's in for the 8pm summary, covering for Annita McVeigh whenever she's absent. It would be ideal, and it's not like she's never presented on the channel before.
