I've had this idea knocking around for a while, recently Oxford and Jersey have got new sets so obviously this is no longer a likelihood, but nearly everyone on this forum seems to agree that the smaller regions wouldn't be able to do a W1 style set. Obviously a Studio B set up would be impossible in the smaller regions, you could probably do one in Southampton, Plymouth, Bristol, Newcastle and maybe Salford though.

In order to come up with a W1 style design for the 'small' regions I decided a Studio E type set could be achieved through similar means to the current N6 types. So you'd have a backlit newsroom backdrop in a rectangular format but with a W1 Style screen/desk/rostra. This is just an example that I created for use in Hull.

Obviously for some shots it would be quite tight, but it is anyway.
Let me know what you think.

I agree there are some tight shots in the Hull studio (Even watching it now, you can tell)

I like the design, and I think all the regions should have sets like Studio E (Why have a sofa at night?, imagine that, BBC News at Six on a sofa)
