Yup. It's a shame the Central name wasn't retained. It would've worked well with those idents.

Well Central had its own website in 1998. I'm not sure at what point this ceased to exist (it was almost identical to Carlton London's website of the time).

It's difficult to know where to set the centre of the logo. Should it be the middle of the typeface with the star tagged on after, or should it be the middle of the complete logo including star.

Centred on screen surely, as it was for Carlton. Would look awful if it is slightly off centre in order to line up with the HTV logo.

The Carlton idents had the Carlton typeface centred, with the star tagged on.

I thought you were talking about the ITV logo, though my answer would still be the same really. I wonder too if it might work better with the HTV logo being a fraction smaller.

Why does the HTV logo need a star next to it. Surely it would look better without.

Read the thread from the beginning and you'll see the logical progression. I actually think it works really well with it - we all know HTV was the real star of the network!
