ITV Daytime Branding

I think the branding of all the daytime programmes is at its best at the moment, GMB is one of my favourites, and the weak point was always LW with the garish colours and set. Now that's changed, I think the graphics and overall look of all the shows are amazing.

That being said, I wanted to unite them further, and continue ITV's idea of doing this as shown in the recent promo/ad for daytime. So I decided to design a logo and background for ITV Daytime itself. On the background, I wanted to keep the colours fairly neutral, but still cheerful and bright for the morning. I chose a light yellow / orange gradient to a very light blue. Then as for the text it is simply the ITV logo and then the word Daytime adjacent. I wanted to avoid Reem for that logo to make Daytime stand out a bit against other ITV + word logos (such as the news and sport etc.) At the side of this logo, there is the menu for the day, starting with GMB and so on with the times of each show next to the logo (in black). I think choosing to incorporate the logos into this rather than simply writing the show's name in Reem helps make the shows flow better whilst still being able to distinguish each one from each other.

Additionally, I wanted to design specific idents for daytime programming, and I made an example of one for at 6am (the start of daytime programmes) and the introduction of GMB. There is the time in Reem shown at the beginning (inspired by BBC Breakfast) followed by the ITV Daytime logo animating in, then as the announcer talks there is the word NOW then Good Morning Britain across from it then underneath, there is the Lorraine logo with the time of 09:00 next to it. At the bottom there is the ITV Daytime logo.

Hope you like and hope everyone's well, I look forward to hearing feedback soon.

It's no ITV Day.

Arguably now the daytime programmes are actually more flagship for ITV than the primetime schedule, so I don't think separate branding would be the way to go.

Arguably though the idea of the ‘Daytime’ brand is the flagship, hence why it has its own branding rather than giving a selection of prime time shows their own branding together.

This definitely has potential and would love to see where you could go with this.

Seems too bright and vibrant and doesn't seem to match with any other ITV branding. 2/5

The idea for this mock was to make the Daytime branding stand out so it might not necessarily match all other ITV branding however Reem is still used in the mock.

Could you please give me some way on how to actually improve the animations you criticise? (not used PowerPoint btw)
