BBC1 HD in 1991

This was an experiment to see how the BBC1 1991 presentation would look if updated to widescreen/HD aspect ratio.

I believe the 1991 branding could easily stand up to todays standards. I have made a mock of it in true High Definition below in 16:9 safe areas.

Very easy to imagine!

Or would HD have been added in the corner like Stereo and 888? Lol

It would most likely have said 'In HD where available'

On the trailer I believe it would have a 'HD' icon beneath the BBC Logo. On the main 'Smokey Globe' Ident, I believe it will have the words 'In High Definition' below the BBC logo. Like this;
