BBC rebrand

I liked the logos but the ident is way too gloomy and just looks quite dated. I don't think it would really fit the channel's audience. I'd say make it less dark, make the shading lighter (so light grey to white instead of grey to dark grey) and maybe make the logo text 2D

BBC Three might be relaunched according to BBC as it's been doing so well. If this is the case, I might do some BBC3 idents

I've been toying around with more concepts for the CBeebies channel, and putting it under the CBBC brand by renaming it "CBBC Baby" or even just "BBC Baby". I wonder if BaByC would work...

I think this is venturing into W1A territory now in all honesty.

The main four channels, radio stations, News, Parliament, Sport and Alba all look fantastic - simple and stylish like the 1997 rebrand. I would personally remove the 'Scotland' motif from the BBC Scotland logo (superfluous to requirements when it's already used in idents), show the whole iPlayer name rather than the 'i' icon (it initially made me think of the former name for the red button!), and change the video gradient as it looks a little dull in my opinion.



I don't think your attempts at making the children's channels 'corporate' really work. While neat and aesthetically pleasing, re-using the 2007 'C' logo for CBBC seems like a step backwards and the Cbeebies example just looks odd - and none of your attempts to rename the channel sound as nice or flow off the tongue as easily as the current name. brioalex's BBC rebrand mock is probably the best example I've seen for rebranding Cbeebies by bringing it more closely in line with CBBC: https://www.tvforum.co.uk/forums/post1216863#post-1216863

Your BBC 1 ident is animated very nicely, I like the logo unfolding and I could imagine that being a motif for trailers (similar to the swirl forming the 'o' that's currently on-screen), but the 3D animation and dark colour scheme of the ident makes me think of ITV regions in the 80s and 90s. Kudos for giving it a go, but I would work on animating the logos in a more 2D manner to start with and then superimposing them onto the current idents, i.e. the BBC 2 curves.

I genuinely like this concept, it needs work and the children's concepts don't work in my opinion but you've got something here. Keep at it.

Alright alright, I'll keep CBeebies...

These are alternative logos for CBBC, utilizing one of the colours they have now for each logo. The green logo is still the main logo.

What I love about this thread is that no one here has been mean, and you have taken a lot of constructive criticism to improve your concepts. Generally, I love your redesigned logos. They're neat and would make sense for a 1997-style corporate look. However, the key issues I have are:

1. A 1997 Corporate style look, where the idents are the centre and not the logo, doesn't do it for me. And I say that from my perspective.

2. The numbers you use are bland. If I were you, I'd replace the 2 with the curve, and the 3 with the numerals. I'd probably also have the number in a big box below the BBC logo, but that's just me. The 1 and 4 need better numbers for a more iconic look.

3. I think that the radio channels could, and should, have a different look from the BBC Television channels. Consistency is good, but radio and TV are different mediums.

4. Make a unique C for 'Cbeebies'. Something less sharp. Brighten up the colours. The blue and yellow are friendly. I'd probably just arrange your Cbeebies logo like the current one, but with the squares.

I hope I am not being too harsh. It's good, but its a start. You're working super hard, and its good, but you're not there yet.
