BBC "Main Channels" Rebrand Concept: 2006 Style

Hello.

Anyone who knows me knows just how much I despise the current state of the main three BBC channels.
So, I did something to match them up...

"BBC Arts" is a renamed BBC 4, as discussed on AddictedToTVPres' thread.

I realise that these are similar in looks to Justin's work. I've been working on this logo layout since February last year, though - I think I'm well within my rights

On to idents. BBC1 would revert to the long Circles idents, and BBC2 would update their current idents with the new logo, along with all of NI's brilliant classics being introduced.

I'm not sure about the capital letters on the BBC One ident - I'm not sure if it works or not.
Constructive criticism is very welcome.

I made this BBC2 endboard a few months ago. It still shows the Avenir typeface but it gives you an idea of what I'm going for. Again, thoughts are appreciated.

I think there's scope with the logos, I don't like them retrofitted into the old idents though.

Some potential here, perhaps experiment with different colours and come up with some menus.

I think I prefer the current 'one' since it has more curves relating to the circle theme. (Or just the fact I'm used to it)

Please tell me that the boxes are just for show, and you've not made them unaligned for nothing.

Thanks for the advice. The boxes are unaligned because the logos are centered - aligning them to the left fixes this.

Anyway, it is really good and I like how you are bringing caps to the 2006 style.

I'd do like the basic logos, but not the idents that go with them,

Maybe try and use the logos with different idents.

The logos are decent, but I agree it doesn't necessarily fit with the current packages (especially BBC2)

I'm not sure if it's the font or the capitals, but the "ONE" looks a bit too stern for BBC One, at least with the circles idents that have a relatively "friendly" theme to them.

Thanks everyone. From what you've all said, the logos don't work, not with the packages I've chosen to use anyway.

I've done some other logos - a set with all lowercase type (BBC1 font, not Gotham), and another that simply re-arranges existing logos:

Funny enough, the lowercase 'two' looks better.

I prefer the lowercase for One and Two, and the uppercase for Arts.

That would just throw consistency out of the window tbh, which I think is what Francis is going for.
