Just a few basic Ideas I had, I will need help on how to improve them.

Breaking Stuffs and the backing thing they use for 4:3 /14:9 feeds

It just does not look newsy, too many blurred edges, could work with Newsround.

Ewwwwkay, thats way too blurred, too big and too colourful.

Tbh, the best thing you could do is not continue and start from scratch. Try small and simple, with some sort of colour scheme.

That colour scheme is putrid, and the the blurring hasn't worked correctly (it would look better unblurred).
P.S. It's "supplied", not "suplied".

Why would CBS be supplying the BBC with a feed of Russell Square?

Not very good at all. It seems you're trying to imitate this look but your attempt failed miserably.

Note that the original graphics weren't very good in the first place.
