I am trying to loop two sounds. They are the Chemical and Main Broadcast Alarm (Don't Ask) used by the Royal Navy.

My copies are about 8-10 secs long and i need to make them longer. How would i do this?

Thanks

Get Audacity. Import the sounds, do Ctrl+A, then Ctrl+C. Press 'End' on the keyboard, then press Ctrl+V as many times as you want.

Is that what you mean?

If your file doesn't loop well when set to repeat as it currently is, use Audacity and find two points in the waveform where the sound is the same - first being the start point of the section you'll loop, second being the end point - and select the whole area between these two.

When you copy and paste that bit of the audio, you then have something that 'joins up' correctly - otherwise it'll sound like it skips at the loop point. To find two matching points you may have to do a lot of zooming in, to precisely select the right points.

I wish I could explain it better than that, but that's as well as I can do. It may not be necessary but I thought it was worth a mention.
