Ahh - in my opinion one of the best pieces of music ever created for an ident.
I was gutted when they pulled the plug on that so quickly.

Back in the day, I did capture a half announcer-less ident and managed to loop it. It's not the full theme, as it doesn't go up at the end (plus you can hear that kid carrying the breakfast up the stairs!)

Agreed. Compare this audio to the dreary, dull as dishwater soundtrack on air today.

Everyone was quick to slate these idents, but the differentiation between the moods of the idents, and even the sunny look that they had was great in my opinion. The only problem was that the logo was an after thought, but saying that, it was the same with the other ITV brands in January 2006.

Ever since ITV rebranded with their new logo's and colour schemes, I feel that every ident has been somewhat dull compared to their competition elsewhere.

I'm just hoping one day someone's gonna come along and beat Channel 4's quality. Whether it's possible or not I really don't know.
