Hey everyone, I've just produced my first mock. It's based on the current Sky News look, with some minor changes. I've explained in the mock why I've done this.
I've made it in Microsoft Powerpoint, for reasons which will become clear after you see the mock
Heh, and I thought I was gonna be pleasantly surprised.
This is in fact, horrible. Which is why people do avoid Powerpoint in most cases. Some have used it very well (ie. AJ) but this is just...awful.
I can't even suggest improvements except just starting again somewhere else.
It's not being harsh - it's speaking my opinion.
Just like people will come here screaming about how much they hate TV shows, I see no reason to act differently when presented with poor mocks.
Sure you can get better - software does play a very big role in most cases though.
It is being harsh. I think if you are posting your first mocks and/or are not experienced then you should state in your post ''Comments and Thoughts welcomed from anyone apart from Barney Boo'' for obvious reasons.
No. I see absolutely no reason why I should treat people's first mocks any differently. They're completely free to do their own thing in private, then post up some decent stuff after a while.
I'll be honest - a lot of people won't improve their skills in any way, either because they don't want to, or they just can't. So - they just don't post them.
I'm not being 'harsh' because they're first mocks either - I don't like them. I've said Powerpoint is not a good program in general mocks, and all this has done is support that view. I would be more than happy to see some other mocks you can do - even if Powerpoint as long as they're is some quality to them.
