This is the first Flash mock I have tried. This is just a ticker at the moment, if you like it I will produce other graphics.

View the SWF here (nb. There should be no light grey background under the darker area but sadly the host will only allow square images.)

I don't understand this mock. It looks like the kind of thing you do when you're messing about on a piece of software, getting to know it. Not the sort of thing you would post on a forum.

I'm not sure how you can say the current BBC ticker is 'modern' and how this is any less or any more 'modern'. I really just don't get the point; I see no improvement.

While the grounds for it strike me as odd, I like it. I like the sort of mocks that consist of mostly solid slabs of colour, with a few 'warmer' graphics in there to spice them up a little.

The immortal question: How can you have a ticker that isn't "modern"? Realistically if it scrolls the other way and you are somehow able to make everybody suddenly read right to left, then maybe it can be classed as "modern".

I mean the BBC put one up somewhere during some election coverage (it was shown on BBC Parliament fairly recently) and guess what? It still scrolled in the same fashion forty years ago as a current day one would, only looking prettier and in colour.
