While the grounds for it strike me as odd, I like it. I like the sort of mocks that consist of mostly solid slabs of colour, with a few 'warmer' graphics in there to spice them up a little.

The immortal question: How can you have a ticker that isn't "modern"? Realistically if it scrolls the other way and you are somehow able to make everybody suddenly read right to left, then maybe it can be classed as "modern".
I mean the BBC put one up somewhere during some election coverage (it was shown on BBC Parliament fairly recently) and guess what? It still scrolled in the same fashion forty years ago as a current day one would, only looking prettier and in colour.
