Is there a particular point to this?

I think he is trying to give the current ITV1 programme boards some more colour, but it is not working.

Have you not got the idea that you're never going to get it!? why not just spend some cash and get Myriad. Does the job.

So you've seen this look already on the telly so you decide to recreate it?
Is it me or am I missing something here?

There's nowt wrong with trying to recreate something you've seen on the telly. I've done it myself, and sometimes it can be quite a challenge. Like this one I made earlier (and am still dead proud of):

I can see what you're trying to do but using a circle gradient isn't the way to go about it. That also looks far too corporate.
