I need help, in more ways than one perhaps. But today I'm just after your opinions, this is yet another BBC News mock I've been working on, but I don't know whether to continue with it.

My problem is I like it, but is it becoming too repetitive for TV Forum? All I seem to be able to do these days are BBC News mocks. It's not really a completely new idea, all I've done is add a metallic effect. Is this one too many, or would anyone like to see more of it? I might be able to animate it, I'm not sure.

Well, it's ok , but what would make it really super is some gratuitous male nudity.

I suppose I could use my nude poser model, he's up for anything. I was trying to steer away from pornography in BBC mocks though.

Well you sounded a tad bored of the whole bog-standard BBC News swooshiness - I thought perhaps this could shake things up enough.

Now, enough chit-chat. Go ahead and prove he's up for anything.

I for one am bored of seeing globes and ribbons, there are hundreds of channels out there crying out to be mocked, but people stick to the tried and tested formula of BBC News. It's been done to death.

How about a new look for Bravo, Ftn or Smile TV Laughing

Go ahead. Agreed it's a bit typical, but they look good so far.

So fed up of you lot making crap mocks in Paint.

I mean ... very nice - nicer than the new glassy look they're currently using. Would make a very nice wallpaper .. in say .. 1280x1024 for example. Nudge.

It's good quality. Rather this than some hideous Paint mock!

I like it a lot. It gives the BBC News graphics more depth. I would really like to see where you take this, Lee.

Thanks for your honesty! I'll leave this alone for now and come back to it when I have a better idea for an animation. I'd like to have a go at Bravo maybe...

Not great quality wallpapers, tried to fix the small inaccuracies with little success.

Why not have a go at something totally new? A fictional channel if need-be. Just test ideas, colours etc and see what you come up with.

Or pehaps try something non news, make some channel idents, menu's etc...

Not quite sure what you are trying to achive here, obviously these images are for 'testing ideas'. They just seem rather static, quite lifeless? To be honest Lee, give up on BBC News branding for a while now is my advice. Red, black, grey, white, the tones and colours that are so easy to use when designing for BBC News, nice to see a hint or blue/purple in the last image but I imagine that is only mocking the recent addition of purple at the end of the national titles? I agree with Bail, something new, use new fonts, new colours, look at social trends and the expectations of today; the evolution of BBC News died at the most recent rebrand, why not build a new design from the drawing board?

My advice, don't give up, you are one if not at times the best mocker/designer here, so don't give up, just try something radically new.
