BBC 'whats on tonight' idents

What do you think of these?

As you can see these are 4:3, so i did a widescreen version for BBC One. The other would follow the same style.

The pictures are just a small preview of the program. they dont match to the program, but thats all i had on my computer at the time.

They's horrible...did you do them in "Paint"???

Ignoring the obvious criticisms, why are you mocking widescreen channels in 14:9, let alone 4:3?!

Is that your idea of constructive criticism?

Not good,ryan. Not in the safe area, because different TV sets cut off certain parts of the picture (overscan).

Plus it doesn't look quite good.

I have some but is it any good? OK, you're not trying and going down a "seen it before" route, surprise me! I'd like to see something good I've never seen on TV but looks right on TV if you understand, this is bland and may have been fine for the late 80's but not now.

I couldn't suggest much besides abandon the idea as it has flaws all over for aesthetics, the ye olde safe zones problem and the fact they lack any creativity or imagination.

Ghastly. The "Tonight" text is stupidly large, and the layout is hamfisted in the extreme. Whether or not these were made in Paint is no excuse for lousy design. These would have looked diabolical even if made in PhotoShop.
