This is more for a bit of fun. I've tried to recreate N6 with as little computer effort as possible. The only thing I used the computer for was printing the backdrop. The rest was done using a shoebox, paper, card and tape!

Looking at it now, the desk is way too big. Are there any other mistakes I've made/changes that could make it better?

haha, what a fab idea.

would be interesting to try a more complex studio in card. C4 for example with a nice bit of plastic for the window over the atrium.

Indeed. I remember my interest in TV studios being started by Blue Peter doing a 'make' where you could recreate the set. It was the one where they had the triangular shelves. I sent off for the instructions so I could make it myself!

OMG. I'm showing my age now Confused

EDIT: My uncle was a set designer for Granada TV and he showed me some of the models they did for drama productions. I was all in card laid out on a technical drawing of the studio floor showing lighting grids etc....

The card used for mounting pictures is the sort of thing they used. It's thick enough so that you can score a line part way through and then bend it to create rigid corners. Ahhh....this takes me back! There weren't computers around then you know, to help with your imagination Exclamation

I actually ended up making some amazing recreations. I was quite upset to junk all my hard work when I left home years later. I'd spent many happy hours creating them.....

Amusing comment Spencer, but don't knock someone's interest. We all have to start somewhere and we're not all amazing at using computer design programs. I have no idea how old the OP is, but if they are young then it's a starting point for an enthusiastic interest. You could be looking at someone who will be designing TV studio sets in 15 years, for all you know.

EDIT: The whole thread could be a piss-take, but it made me reminisce - anyway Very Happy

The whole thread was - as you so elegantly put it, StuartPlymouth - a piss-take. I wasn't seriously considering this as a genuine mock - just a bit of fun.

Well it made me all nostalgic, chris..... Wink Mine never looked THAT bad, but I wasn't going to say that!
