BBC News 24

I've spent a while trying to perfect these, quite pleased with the outcome. My aim was to create a set of astons that were uncluttered and clean, but not done before (ie. not with the "story title" on the left like Sky News).

The "story aston" stays on-screen throughout the introduction to the report, the report itself, and any other content on the story. When the headline changes, the bar joining the clock flips over, revealing the new headline.

The main aston has centred text, and is not beveled like the bottom one (it looked like too much when I tried it).

The main aston flips over, revealing the left-aligned information on the other side.

In the event of breaking news, the headline aston at the bottom flips over revealing the "Breaking News" text, every 30 seconds or so flipping back to the relevant headline, and vice versa.

I think they're a bit too like the ones on screen now. It's a safer way of going about it though - rather than totally re-designing the whole lot.

The china-red and black seems a bit normal now for the channel, which is why there doesn't seem to be much "life" in these.
