BBC National News

Hi There,
I have been thinking about these mocks for a while and have finally come round to actully doing them. They are based on the ''Headlines/Special Report'' Strap used on BBC News at 6.
So here we go.

I am not very happy with the BBC logo and thought it should have had a clock. There were a few things I wanted to change but I thought I would listen to your opinion first!

I do agree the BBC should use the Special Report style straps for their astons, but I wouldn't have added any text over the red image - just left it as it is, as it's a more subtle branding using the red ribbons of BBC News, and the current astons don't (all) have BBC News branding.

Also, as they are not used on News 24, you don't even have to think about a clock!

I was in two minds about putting BBC NEWS over the red orginally it was just BBC.
Also I find it useful to have a clock.

I don't like the "current story" strap. I don't like the one they actually use either though - I much prefer the old sidebar inset. Perhaps you could mock a new one of those?

I have never liked either really, I like the actual **STRAPS** on BBC News 24 and prefer the BBC to use them. I think it is original not to have a picture but this is what it would look like as a BBC News 24 strap.

The reworked ones without the logo look much better - but I'd say axe the BBC News logo from the current story strap as well.

I didn't want to axe the logo from the current story strap because I thought that they should know what news they are watching for at least a few seconds anyway I am making my way though most of the BBC News Programes.

with the newsnight and breakfast ones, all you did was change the colour! I dont like these mocks at all, they are just a bit too ITV like, even though they are half used on the BBC

I know what you mean, they do look like the ITV straps, and I know I have just changed the colour but Newsnight and Breakfast are BBC News based so I thought I would try and keep them roughly the same.
