Here is an even newer design. I've decided to scrap the stock info in favour of the clock and channel branding. As you can see there is now a second line of headline data, which changes every 6 seconds approx. to show info relevant to the headline above. This would obscure the second line only at the start of a story (much as with the current N24 graphic). The small, semi-transparent "LIVE" tab would appear only for 5 seconds or so, and could possibly be adapted to become an aston (although text size might be an issue there). So, is this an improvement?

Also, any hints on improving the JPEG compression? I am currently saving my images and then shrinking them in Paint, should I do something different?

In Paint?
What software are you designing them in?

I'm not MAKING them in Paint, just resizing them there. This was because of advice given by r2ro:
This was in my "Help - New Member!" post.

If you open the image in Paint and then by using trial and error you should be able to get it down to the correct size for uploading and I don't think that there are any particular file types that you need to use.

I know that, I mean you resizing them in Paint, couldn't you just use the software you design them with, because you have more choice how you want to compress your JPEG, rather then Paint which has a crappy default.

Prior to this most recent reply, I did actually find a better way to do it. If you look at my newer posts you should see an improvement. Thanks anyway though.

I could be insulted by that.
But I'm not. These are quite good. I don't suppose there is a 16:9 version of the BBC News title screen in the works? I rather like solid Lower third, as opposed to the gradient, however.

Umm, I like the use of the Blue, but my major worry would be the use of the gradient, it's a very American thing to do and personally looks very 1980's.
The ticker looks good, although I would take you to task on the channel identity, a key point in presentation.
Other than that, keep them coming.
