I've noticed a few people commenting about this site redirecting to You Tube, I think there is a bug somewhere.

It happens when someone uses the YouTube tags and puts the whole YouTube link URL in them instead of just the video ID. This thread is doing it at the moment.

I can't see that thread at all at the moment. What browser are you using that redirects you to YouTube? I just see the YouTube video embedded like usual, it doesn't matter if someone has used the full URL or just the video ID.

EDIT : In fact, I just tried it. If you use the full URL the forum strips out everything bar the video ID anyway.

EDIT : Just seen it for myself. This URL causes the redirect when placed between YouTube tags. This is a link to a channel page rather than a video. This is what someone posted in the BBC North West Tonight thread that you linked to above,

Optional reply saying yes, they look very nice. Joke about Asa being cheap reusing the same decorations.

What about the 'Happy Christmas' thread? Who should start it this year? I think normally it is just started by the first person to think about it.

In 2010, it was started on 17th November (bot early) by adw2007 and fizzled out on the 17th December.

A new one was started on the 24th December by James Vertigan.

In 2009, it was started on the 23rd December by Connews.

I couldn't find one for 2008.

In 2007 it was started on 24th December by James Vertigan.

I propose this year it is discussed and we decide by popular vote who should start it. My vote goes to Tumble Tower.

My ears are burning... Very Happy

I think 23rd or 24th is usually early enough to start it... and usually if nobody else has done one I step in Smile

That just leaves that third Christmas thread to appear, which never really works out in the first place. Exclamation

I see VirginMediaPhil has started a thread in the main forum. That is all well and good of course, but I am talking about 'The Official TV Forum Christmas thread' not this opportunist nonsense started by VirginMediaPhil.

I urge you not to post in the thread started by VirginMediaPhil. Please wait for the official thread.

Mods, please lock the thread in the main forum. I don't want any trouble.

Thank you.

The 'post' webpage has the normal non-festive design.

No David, it isn't. It's a Christmas thread, a simple thread to wish people a Merry Christmas. Whether it's started today or sometime in the next week is irrelevant. It won't be locked and if people want to post in there, they're very welcome.

And for what it's worth, yes I'm being very cheap on the decorations again (think of this place a bit like BBC Two) Laughing . I wasn't expecting to still be using this regular design/code by the end of the year but unfortunately we are, so we've got the same decorations back again. I'm almost certain it'll be different next year...probably.
