I'm sorry that this annoys you so much James. The capitalisation of the words on the captions is a purely cosmetic thing. I decided to do that as I thought it looked better that way.
Sorry - but I have no plans to change it.

It's An Excellent Site, But The Use Of An Initial Capital In Every Word On The Captions Does Irritate Me.

Cosmetic? It just spoils the site's otherwise excellent content and presentation by making it look illiterate.

Capitalising words in that way is quite valid in certain contexts. I have opted for that 'style' on my captions. You'll also find that it is a common option on most decent Word Processors.
As for being illiterate - I don't think so. I have a more than adequate grasp of the English language (unlike many of the visitors to this site) - and I don't think anything on TV Room detracts from that statement.

I've just stumbled across a page on the online site where all the images were missing. Undoubtedly, fallout from the recent server move. If you find any pages like this, I'd be very grateful if you would forward details to me.

Thanks for that. Page one of that section has now been updated with images from 1968-1987.
More images and video to follow.

This is from an academic style guide which sums it up quite well:
Now I'm not saying that style guides and "rules" should be followed unquestioningly, but I am sure I am not alone in finding captions like:
ABOVE: Zooming In On The Studio At ITN.
rather jarring. As far as I can see they conform to no known convention for titles.
Quote:
The so-called "Titling Case" used in headlines and subheadings is difficult to quantify. As a general rule, all nouns and verbs should be capitalised in titles, as should some adverbs and adjectives. Prepositions and conjunctions should NOT be capitalised, except when they are the first word in a sentence, in which case they must always be capitalised. Eg:
"The Count of Monte Cristo"
NOT "The Count Of Monte Cristo"
OR "The count of monte cristo"
"The Taming of the Shrew"
NOT "The Taming Of The Shrew"
OR "The taming of the shrew"
Minor words that occur in most sentences: (the, as, of, to, for, in, at, etc,) should NOT be capitalised.
