Couldn't really find something on this so thought I'd start a discussion / changelog of how the various TV providers are embracing mobile / web delivery.

Sky seem to have this sorted from the off - Sky Go is available on Android, iOS (but not Windows Phone) on a lot of phones and tablets, as well as being accessible from normal browsers on laptops and PCs. 60 channels available, including Sky Movies and Sports, plus Eurosport (but not BT Sport or Premier or stuff like MUTV) as well as on demand content and the ability to download and keep stuff on your device - of which you can register four. There's even a dedicated Sky Sports Mobile TV app, with which you can currently log in with Sky Go, Now TV or Vodafone Mobile TV accounts.

Virgin's offering is a bit stingy in comparison - a full Anywhere service is available on its website granted, offering 45 channels. But in order to use the mobile app you must have a TIVO box which is annoying for us non-TIVO users. The app is however available on Kindle Fire, which Sky Go isn't. The VM Anywhere website uses Flash which makes it redundant and unusable on Android device browsers (and indeed Firefox on desktop/laptop it seems!) plus you can only register two devices at any one time, with a limited amount of changing. A new development in the past few days is that you can now use your VM login at SkySports.com to watch Sky Sports, but as they use Silverlight, once again you're out of luck on a mobile. This has meant incidentally that you can no longer watch Sky Sports on VM's website.

Apparently you will be able to soon use your VM Anytime ID to log into Sky's mobile TV app on Android (it's just been rolled out for iOS). No idea if BT Sport will follow suit and allow non BT subscribers to use their app, or if indeed there will ever be a non-Tivo VM Anywhere app for mobile.

What are other providers like?
