Just downloaded the iMP this afternoon. I've been playing about with it ever since.
The whole application is build around IE and WMP. It seems an exceptionally shoddy thing to do, but I'm going to guess that it's been done as a temporary time saving measure. According to the FAQ they will be developing for Mac and Linux in the future, so something more universal could well be used in the general release.
The radio playback is set at 128KB/s, which I find very odd. People using the iMP will be people with high speed connections (obviously) and so I reckon they could bump up the bitrate to *at least* 192KB/s. People with dial-up can get the poor quality stream through the BBC site, so why not give us iMP users the full whack?
But, yes, very nicely set out, good intuitive navigation and all seems to be working pretty glitch free at the moment.

Cappsy,
When did you get the download link? I've been a good boy, filling out the eDiary regarding my viewing habits, as well as the Media survey, etc.
By the way, for anyone wishing to see roughly the content of the iMP, view this link... you won't be able to download anything, but at least you get a small idea of content, etc.

Many thanks

I got my download link yesterday. According to the BBC news item I read a few days ago, everyone participating ashould get the link in the next two weeks.
Also: I don't care what the poxy preview videos tell me, I am NOT pronoucing it 'imp'. It's pronounced 'i-M-P' and that's the end of it!
Silly BBC. *huffs*

The app is password protected so even if you could find a download you wouldn't be able to use it without a password.
