So, yeah, I'm actually happy about this. Finally, I'll be able to enjoy the likes of Jazz FM, Mellow Magic and Virgin Radio on my portable DAB/DAB+ radio on the go, and not have to think, how long can I listen to that stream before I run out of credit on my phone.

What are your favourite stations on the multiplex?

I dip into the new Virgin Radio from time to time, have managed to get a couple of songs onto Union Jack as well. Jazz FM Stereo by far the best new station you’ll get access to though, for those who are getting Sound Digital transmissions for the first time. As the name suggests it’s stereo too so it actually sounds good in the car (road noise hides artefacts from low bitrate).

On a list of the 18 supposedly approved sites for enhancing coverage on DS, Hastings is on the list for the improvement, yet the a516 article mentions Eastbourne instead.

I largely listen to online radio or Spotify/Deezer while out, but have listened to Union Jack and Jack 3. I've also listened to Talk Radio, but I get the distinct impression that nobody is listening thanks to the waffling the presenters make to pad the time.

"There will also be a smaller coverage boost for the multiplex along the south coast around Eastbourne" isn't meant to imply there's a transmitter actually in Eastbourne, just that a new transmitter will improve coverage along the south coast in that area, based on the coverage map.

The ITU list of approved sites appears to only list 17 of the 19 new transmitters; the coverage map shown at the Radio Festival appears to indicate Huntshaw Cross isn't one of them. It may be useful to compare with the original list of approved sites - many of which were not used https://www.a516digital.com/2014/07/10-things-to-know-about-digital-2-dab.html (scroll down) - and wait until the finalised details are made official.

Where is the page with details of the new transmitters?

As for stations, Talk Radio is the only one I've listened to but that was in the early days when there were some funny personality based shows on like Jon Holmes and Jake Yapp. Iain Lee's still on late nights and Bob Mills on Sunday evenings is worth a listen too

Together with the ones listed on https://www.a516digital.com/2014/07/10-things-to-know-about-digital-2-dab.html , they form a list of transmitters approved (but not necessarily used) for the Sound Digital multiplex.

Yes, I'd second that. I'm surprised how robust reception of Jazz FM (and the other DAB+ stations on SDL) is in Central Southern England, given the handful of transmitters compared to the BBC national mux. Although a very sensitive car radio should take some of that credit

So, I can now pick up the multiplex in Plymouth now, although Jazz FM is currently silent, not sure what’s up there.

"Jazz FM Stereo" as it's labelled is working fine here. Do the other DAB+ stations work on your receiver?

Yeah they do, and it's working on a different reciever, so I'm guessing the placement of the reciever is the problem.

Admittedly on my Pure Receiver, in comparison to other DAB+ stations, it took slightly longer to decode with blank audio until it started to stream. The other DAB+ stations start off in muffled mono until they properly decode.
