I've just had to give my son his large Logik TV because he has got a new flat. As it had been such a good TV I wanted to replace it so I found a 55 inch Logik on the Internet at Currys. When I went there they had none in stock and had no idea when they might get one so I'm looking for an alternative. Would anyone care to offer a suggestion, that is if they don't know where I might get one.

Can't tell if this is a serious post as generic large screen TVs such as those badged Logik are of the minimal possible standard in terms of quality that a manufacturer can possibly get away with while meeting the necessary standards. If you were genuinely happy with such a set (which may well be the case depending on viewing habits) literally any 55 inch TV on the market should be at least comparable with a old Logik model.
"I've just had to give my son his large Logik TV". So what was he watching then if you had it? J/K, I know what you meant to say.
Logik are one of those "exclusive to Currys" brands. It'll be a rebranded something else, much like Alba and Bush are the exclusive to Argos brands. According to ukwhitegoods.co.uk a lot of the white goods that were Logik were most likely rebranded Vestel so it would have been cheap and cheerful in the first place.
TVs have dropped in price recently and are almost always on offer somewhere. Can get a 55" one now at ao.com for £370 and there are some top brands on the likes of Amazon for around the same price point; all depends on how many HDMI ports you need and what Smart functionality you're going to use if any.
Many thanks for your reply's. Whilst I can understand what you say regarding a TV being built to minimal standard I can only speak as I found about the Logik I used. I would buy a higher quality if I knew what one's to look at but about the only advice I can find is through the Which Magazine and tight fisted I may be but I'm not prepared to pay what they charge. Anyway, thanks for the replys.
Its your money, buy what you like. Argos have a cheap 55" one @ £350 - outside of sales like Black Friday, Boxing Day/New Year and summer specials, they're not going to get much cheaper than that at this time, if that's the size of TV you want:

The likes of Which tend to favour value for money which is why they tend to gravitate towards the more expensive ones.
In all honesty my friend, this is then not the right forum for you. We primarily discuss what's on the TV and the bits inbetween the programmes, not what we watch it on.
But realistically depending on your viewing habits and what the old TV did, will tell you more where you need to go. If you just want to flop down in front of the TV when you come home from work at 5:30pm and fall asleep in front of Pointless and the 6 O'Clock News, any TV will do that.
Or of course the alternative is to get that TV back from your son's flat and tell him to buy his own
Your reply makes sense especially expert reviews and I will look at that carefully. Yes, the alternative is to get that TV back from your son's flat. I blame it on the female who has moved in with him but she's bigger than me.
