Roku devices give HDCP errors if they get too hot. Now TV devices are made by Roku. I know people who have clamped large bits of metal to their Roku sticks to give them a bigger heat sink to avoid this.

Hopefully this is an end to premier league matches on Amazon for now and it returns to proper broadcast telly.

Nope, it's back next year (and the year after)

That’s ridiculous when these matches are shown in proper 1080i50 and 3840p50 elsewhere.

Amazon, Facebook, Netflix and the other streaming video companies don't care about that. They just want you to associate them with your favourite sport, and to entice you to spend money with them. Remember, Amazon aren't doing this to get viewers to see adverts, they're doing it to sell Prime subscriptions, and make it easier for you to do all your shopping through them.

And they have full HD and UHD streams available where they can, so their argument will be you need to spend more money on your internet connection and it's not their fault you've got crappy broadband. Can't get FTTC / FTTP? Well, think about moving to somewhere that can, they've not signed up to any universal access obligations.

If you're upset or annoyed, it's the Premier League themselves you should direct your complaints to. It's their media strategy that saw them selling the rights for below the market value simply to try and attract these types of streaming companies and reduce the reliance on broadcast.

I see this as the future for sport... no need for a channel to select one match to show but a menu with all the games and you can select which one you want.

Has worked brilliantly over the past few weeks... video appears instantly, no buffering, switch between TV and iPad, can watch highlights of the games I didn’t watch in full... simples

Could I suggest the honourable gentleman invests in a Fire Stick (since he has issues with the built-in App on his audio visual receiver) and some audio communication to the ISP of his choosing with a view to reducing its crappyness. Smile

I just want premier league tv has all the games with proper pundits!

Having Sky Sports, BT Sport, Amazon Prime is too many providers there, costs arm and a leg.

You want a single provider, which you think will be cheaper? Dream on.
Hatton Cross and London Lite gave kudos

They do in other countries like South Africa Supersport

South Africa is aminiscule market in comparison. A single provider will cost more, have cut-price pundits and poor presentation values. Having two or more means that the competition raises standards all around and provides contrasting presentation so it doesn't become bland and formulaic.

Sky Sports seems to be very bland these days I remember when I got it in 1994 it was so brash in your face with proper theme music for the footy now it’s sponsored by Renault with a completely forgettable theme tune and it’s been like that for a good few years now.

Img sports media and PLP do Premier League properly. No cut price pundits they had Hoddle, Owen and Tony Adams yesterday along with an ex referee debating VAR.
