Not sure where you've plucked that from... As posts in this topic would suggest, these only aired from yesterday - 31st.

Also, you're missing:

edit ... and add Kebab to that list, shown on NI before Saturday Kitchen Best Bites.

What were the idents this morning.

I don't suppose there's any chance of the clock being brought out of retirement for the morning World/NC simulcasts and closedown?

How odd ... NI just showed Powder, before Robert Redford: Talking Pictures, but with the italic BBC logo they used during Afternoon Classics Season 2.

I think some of the idents have stood the test of time better than others, though it's still nice to see them. I quite like how with Wave (day) the BBC box switches from white to black (and back) to match with the wave. I think I prefer the idents with this version of the BBC box compared to their original larger "BBC TWO".

They also showed Swan with the italic BBC Northern Ireland logo before Songs of Praise earlier today.

This probably is an error on their part - hopefully!

I recall reading the BBC One balloon idents were recorded in widescreen in 1996, so it's possible any 2s from that year may be in widescreen too.

Yes, you're right they were. I happened to meet the chap who piloted the BBC hot air balloon for the BBC One idents back in the mid/late 90s, when I was at secondary school. This was before I became a presentation geek mind you.

Geek alert:

He irronically gave a talk about his background in ballooning and we were all invited onto the school field where the BBC balloon was inflated for us to look around. I had a disposable camera with some pictures of it up close and did get the photos developed, will have to dig them out. I would assume he stills owns the said balloon, sadly I can't remember his name. Smile

Ironic in an Alanis Morissette way, one presumes.
