Seeing the Learning Zone DOG at the start of Sunroof made me wonder if they would have been better off adding a DOGlike logo in the top left corner. Something like this:

I do know of one BBC Two disc (and a player) that's kept in working order for BNCS training in Vale Wing...

How very strange. You'd have thought if they'd decided they didn't like the new look, they'd have realised before putting it to air.
Personally I think just using the BBC logo on the current idents would work better than with the box, but not in the bottom right. It just makes no sense when you consider most of the '2's are slightly right of centre as it is to accommodate the box on the left.
Whoever posted the mocks ages ago with the BBC logo vertically centered, and to the left of the 2 had the right idea.
I'm hoping the boxes have reappeared to allow them time to reposition the BBC logo somewhere more sensible.

I think the best thing BBC could do is mix up the best of the past and current idents, which have not changed all that much in style over the years to provide a more varied collection and ditch the box for the old [B] [B] [C] Two bottom caption, but with a slight black shadow/glow to be legible against the light backgrounds lots of the new idents use (see pic below)

But seriously this no box idea is workable, they just need to find a suitable spot to plonk the BBC logo that will work in all the idents. This will be no mean feat, the difference between the 91-97 set which featured the 2-BBC layout and this set is the 91-97 had the 2 in a fixed position whereas the current 2s are placed all over the shop.
If they are still going ahead with the idea of course...

Whilst this is a good idea they ruled this out about a year and a half ago when they altered the 2. Yes, the average viewer probably wouldn't notice but it would further dilute the brand values of BBC Two (and I don't think they can be diluted much further at the moment tbh).
