I know this is boring and mundane but just checking my Twitter feed it seems Jackie Kabler has got herself in a muddle with her shifts at ITN

Romily Weeks for the 6:30 it seems - maybe i've not caught her presenting in the last few weeks, but isn't this the first time she has been on in quite a while? ( wasn't she off for maternity leave I think?)

Jumped me to it lol
Yes apparently she has been on maternity leave, she made a reference to urinating in a policeman's hat if you're pregnant on a report a few weeks ago.

It was a good few months back, that report - maybe almost a year ago!

I really do not like Romilly's presenting style. Now she's back, I hope they don't dump the likes of Andrea, Sally and Daisy on the weekend news. Also, as far as my knowledge goes, this is her first news at 6:30 role since the brand realignment. Does anyone know where Nina has been recently?
Also, if Mary is presenting at 10, why did she not do 6:30?

I suppose it's down to eveyones own opinion, but I think she is 10x better than Daisy and even Andrea & Sally too. She's a lot more experienced too IMO. A few years ago, she used to present quite a lot, with the likes of Geraint IIRC.

Although she's been off for quite a while, surely she's been on since the brand realignment because that was about 15/16 months ago, back in Oct/Nov 2009 IIRC!!

On the last point... erm perhaps Mary is busy? Never thought that they do more than present the news?

I can agree that she is more experienced, I prefer her reporting than presenting, and I she was much better as royal correspondent compared to Tim Ewart. I don't think she did that much presenting before, I do remember Geraint and Nina quite a lot.

She has been on the weekend news a fair bit since the brand realignment, but not on a prime time slot such at the 6:30 news.

Normally, on a Friday, they have the same pair of presenters on at 6:30 and at 10.

I prefer Romilly, as said above she is far more experienced and doesn't come across as awkward compared to Daisy, that said I would prefer Andrea to present at weekends.

Romilly HAS presented the ITV News at 6.30 with James Mates a few months ago.

As for Nina, she has been away since Tuesday 15th with Ben Scotchbrook and Charlene White covering on London Tonight. I would assume she's back next week after half term.

Julie did the majority of evening and NaT bulletins and last week and in return Mary has been presenting the evening and NaT all this week, and having Romilly on the 6.30 bulletin may be giving her a bit of a restbite or just edging her back onto the bulletins.

According to Wikipedia Romilly had her first child in October 2008 and her second in September 2010. Being close together, we're probably confusing her maternity leaves and shes only just come back which is why she hasn't been on for ages. Sadly that means Andrea will probably dropped from the weekend news as they did with Lucy Meacock in 2009.

I can't bear Sally Bidduph so if it means less of her then all the better.

Two rather embarrassing moments for Daisy McAndrew yesterday, on the evening bulletin at the end of the programme there was some breaking news which Daisy read out. With about a minute left at this point there was a silence after she read the breaking news looking unaware of what to do next. She then repeated the breaking news and must of mentioned the same line about the late news about two or three times.

Then on the late bulletin yesterday at the end the bulletin Daisy was giving a rather longer close and with time cutting desperately short she had to quickly stutter her words.

I really wish they hadn't introduced Daisy to presenting the bulletins.

That's an issue with the timing within the bulletin, not the host.

Just caught the +1 late bulletin. Noticed she tried to assume

'from all of the team thankyou for watching' but she saw Libya and Malta further along. So I assume she tried to change it to London, Libya and Malta and it all just got messed up.

On a short weekend bulletin it seems presenters need to be pacey and on their feet, with Kier in the studio as well, things just didn't move quickly which could of left a long closer like previous weekends. All very precious time.
