It may be worth noting that the very start of Network's version of Silk seems to have been trimmed slightly, as anyone familiar with the soundtrack will notice that there is one fewer of the regular quiet two-note musical chimes at the start, before you hear the first of the louder bell chimes.

Another special ident this year, this time featuring a '2'-shaped tennis ball. This apparently aired before the Eastbourne coverage today.

Yes, it aired at 1 o'clock. Its a doubles match and the four players 'groan' "B". "B", "C", "Two" while the ball is hit around the court. Amusing

That's the first new ident we've seen for some time.

The We Know Food ident was used yesterday on BBC TWO NI but I haven't seen the Snooker idents since the championships.

Does the double sided box appear on this or is the centered logo used?

They've just shown the Wimbledon ident at 9pm and IMO it's really bloody awful. Cheap and nasty.

Please inform your wonderful colleagues in England that there is a clean and true 16:9 version of "Silk" in existence. They don't have to play out a stretched 4:3 copy, they're making the channel look (even more) amatuerish. Thanks.

Otherwise, thumbs up for nostalgia.

Thought I saw that. Also, it might just be the recording setups but why does the NI version look to have a blue tinge while England uses the original Viridian colour?
