BBC News: Presenters & Rotas

Just going back to the discussion we were having last week about BBC News presenters during the 1990s, I knew that Huw Edwards had presented the One O'Clock News during the "virtual era" but I didn't know he presented it once he took over the Six O'Clock News in May 1999:





I guess it was probably a one-off given the special nature of the day (the eclipse). I do have an excuse for not knowing that fact, as I was at Chester Zoo that day

I suppose it was because it was a special event. He also presented the one o'clock news on 7/7/05.

Looking at the first clip above from 1999 in itsrobert's post, I hadn't realised Robert Hall was such a long-serving reporter for BBC News. He was a reporter for ITN in the 1980s and worked for Yorkshire Television on the evening news programme Calendar. Which year did he join BBC News?

Out of curiosity, how long would it take from TV Centre to Olympic Park?

With or without engineering work on the Central Line?

35minutes with good service from Stratford to White City, not sure how long it would take to get down from Lund Point and up the road to the station if that's how they choose to travel, but my money is on motorbikes.
