I am also hearing from twitter and other forums that BBC News Channel is moving back to N8 in June when World News move to BH. N8 is news 24's previous studio and current world news set.
Any credible, specific sources? Plus, any real benefit from moving to N6 to N8 just for a year, apart from using it to move to during rehearsal time?
Well all reports on here have suggested only the 5pm and 9pm hours will move to N8 for 6 o'clock and 10 o'clock news rehearsals.
I think it would make sense for them to move BBC News Channel back to N8 full time, and leave the BBC1 bulletins in N6. N8 may require more maintenance, meaning weekends in N6 once in a while, but I'm sure it's more expensive to run a 20+ (or however many) screen video wall continuously, than it is to run an 8 screen video wall.

It been mentioned before that the screen stay on continously, even when the studio's aren't in use as it keeps them calibrated and requires less maintainence. In studio terms, the panels pull a negligable amount of power anyway.
N8 is actually one sexy looking set these days. The current imaginative lighting and camera work makes it quite a versatile little studio, as opposed to the acres perception of the NC studio.
The only issue with N8 is that in its current layout, isnt best suited to double-headed presentation. Unless the NC intends to switch to single headed presentation before the BH move. Although there is no reason why N8 cannot have the Right hand screen reinstated, desk & cameras moved, but I think the first idea is probably more cost effective when theyre probably only going to be in there for six months. Or they could just have one of the two presenters sitting in the pod.

Wow. We have reached new levels of sadness on this forum if sets are 'sexy'.
