I agree with all those who have said that the fourth death being the tram driver would be a cop-out, but it's not unheard of for TV companies/networks to mislead us in this way. Look at the factory seige that was marketed as 'leading to two shocking deaths' or words to that effect. Only Tony and his sidekick copped it.

Off-topic, I know, but two or three years ago a Home and Away storyline involving a 'psychotic stalker' was marketed as 'leaving five residents dead'. The five people were the stalker herself, her sidekick, a non-speaking extra, a minor guest character and one regular cast member who rose from the dead a couple of months later. OK, H&A isn't Corrie, I know, but marketing departments do have ways of promoting these things in such a way as to mislead, without actually giving us incorrect information.

By the way, I assume there are STV and UTV branded versions of the 'crash week' trailers?

I have a feeling this tram crash is going to be a huge anti-climax.

Just seeing this made me wonder if there going to have incidental ( I think it's called that anyway) music in tonights and this weeks episodes. Does everyone else get the same impression from this article that they will? Wonder what U2 song it will be, if it is the case? I can't quite remember, but have the really ever use incidental music before?

Quote:
Even (as in this week's episodes) creating an emotional visual montage to the backdrop of a U2 song, a trick used in many US dramas, required a discussion about its suitability for such a staunchly traditional drama. ITV bosses used to complain privately that the close-knit Corrie production team were reluctant to accept innovations. But the soap, now spruced up and shot in HD, is in "rude health", according to Reynolds.

The last time I can remember proper incidental music was at Carla's wedding

So, not long to go now... getting quite excited, I don't mind admitting! Also, all this talk of special opening titles showing Weatherfield in its entirety sounds intriguing!

Are the openings going to be like this all the time now? Cold opening I believe it's called.

The widest shot from the titles. Interesting to have a pre-titles segment.

I love the subtle hints...
Carla: Who's going to get lucky tonight.
Ashley: It's a stage night. What's going to happen Laughing

Loving the opening shot too!

I thought Harvey's - The Furniture Store might have made an effort tonight/this week.
