So do you think CITV won't be broadcasted on weekend's now because they get more viewer's showing the best of Daybreak With Lorraine?
Well it's already been confirmed that CITV will no longer have any slots on ITV1.
Comfirmed for ITV1 or both ITV1 and ITV Breakfast Ltd licenses?
I'd assume both with ITV 100% owning the Breakfast licence. Don't hold me to that though...
Although, come to think of it, is there any longer CITV on ITV1 other than in Breakfast hours? If not, then the latest announcement must refer to Breakfast television.
What an incredibly childish thread. Shall not be posting here in future.
GMTV/Daybreak updates in the GMTV thread, it is after all the same company, made by the same people, in the same time slot.
After September 6th, either rename the GMTV thread to Daybreak to preserve its 17year heritage, or start a grown-up thread.
As regulars to this thread will have already noticed a lot of the recent off-topic bickering has been removed. Hopefully this will allow this thread to remain open and run alongside the GMTV thread (see this earlier post).
Do we know if Daybreak are doing the own in-house news or are they going to use a news provider such as ITN or SKY.
Also who is going to be the political team? I think Sue Jameson should be involved but someone else as well I was thinking David Wunthorpe ex bbc north west he has a big insight on politics .
For weather Charlie Neil , Jayne Cheater , Nicola Dixon , Denise Nurse , Lisa Burke and Francis Wilson are all available as well as the possibility of poaching someone from elsewhere .
Sport I think they should use a rising star Pete Graves of Sky Sports News.
Mark Eddo would be good on the front of Economics .
I got the impression that ITN was supplying the news content?
Over the next few weeks, we should get more of an insight. If they are serious about rivalling BBC Breakfast and sky Sunrise, it should be a seven day a week programme. I'm sure ITN or similar could provide presenters for a weekend show which could be more sports/showbiz orientated?!
It'll be interesting to see how the audience responds. The original GMTV only had 14 weeks before it was relaunched into TV-am Mark II.

I Agree with you ther it needs to be seven days a week because someone will watch daybreak for a week and then watch sunrise or breakfast over the weekend like that and then watch it from monday it Is just throwing away viewers.
For male weekend they have plenty of choices Chris Roberts, Chris Rogers, Mark Webster, Phil Gayle . Geriant Vincent .
For female Helen Fospero , Romily weeks , Leyla D , Isla Traquir , Kate Gearbru , Andrea Benefiled , Louise minchin (with the bbc relocating she wont sign a new contracT)
Huge shame if Helen Fospero isn't picked as newscaster, I think she has that Penny 'charm', an authoritive newsreader but also able to have a laugh. I'm hoping they haven't just plucked someone out of nowhere (which seems increasingly likely - Andrea Benfield's name was tossed around a bit) - I think they need a few GMTV faces at least.

Why she isn't becoming the anchor beside Adrian, I don't know. She has credible journalism merit and skills, a likeability and fun-loving. Much better than Christine Bleakley, IMO.
I suppose being newcaster (and hopefully Christine's holiday cover, with any luck) won't be bad.

Will Kate not be holiday cover?
Also I should imagine that within the next 2/3 weeks ITV will start the promotion of Daybreak. Hoping they go all out with it - although with the amount of press there've got already about the Christine/Adrian saga and the axings at GMTV I don't think they need to bother!!
