Very good edition of the News at Ten tonight. A generous amount of Campaign 2010 coverage but enough other news to round it all off - it's times like this that the programme excels itself.
Speaking of the 2010 election coverage, I wonder which music will be used on the night itself. I liked the theme they used for both 2001 and 2005, but the orchestral and imposing 2008 theme is a favourite of mine.
Nice to see some archive ITV election footage on the Tonight programme earlier this evening, ITN logos included!

I agree. It started with a more serious headline the the 6:30 ( which I think it should.)
The Election coverage has been really good the last few days also.
Also, althought BBC News has 'officialy' extended 10 minutes untill the election, I think the NAT has 'unofficailly' too - seems to be going on to 10:28ish rather that 10:24/5. ( that's if my clocks right! )

Dave Hewson is providing the music for ITV's election night programme.
Looking at the news, they haven't tweaked the logo meaning it now looks old and makes the whole "brand realignment" a waste of time.
I agree - if there've gone to all this bother you'd think they could just change the logo on the titles and the namestrap - that's all they really need to change !
A great shame they went to so much effort to "realign" the brand with ITV1, only for them to improve the ITV1 image a few months later and leave the ITV News imagery unchanged.
It truly is news and politics night next Thursday on ITV1 (and who would have dared to dream that in 2010 of all years?) ... following "The First Election Debate" - liking that promo - there'll no doubt be full analysis on News at Ten. That is followed by "Campaign 2010 with Jonathan Dimbleby", which itself is followed here in Yorkshire by "Campaign 2010: Calendar". I presume other regions are similarly titled, as normally this programme is called "Last Orders" in this region.

Its not even as though they had to do anything major, just changing the logo to have a gradient would suffice.
