There's nothing wrong with dreaming, but someone needs to help him out here with support.
It's easy to criticise someone else for not having the same standards as everyone else, but this doesn't the age or the place to be so negative.
I think the second half of my post was giving him some support with a hybrid of graphics from the old itv news channel, Last version of Sky News graphics, Current GMB graphics and keeping with the Slash TV circle theme.
Here are the things I've acted on based on reading through the last 2 pages:
-All extra channels except Slash News have been cancelled
-The inconsistencies between the website, this thread and Twitter have been sorted out.
-I've changed the breakfast show start time to 6.15 and the end time to 7.15 (weekdays)
-The old websites and social media are being deleted/edited
I'm pleased to read you're taking on board the feedback. It's so easy to put something up somewhere and ask for feedback, have it ripped to shreds and then go off on one when you don't hear what you want to hear.
I'm not convinced this is going to get as big as you think it's going to be but if it makes you happy and you want to do it, then go for it.

"Sorry about the website. We've got a team of engineers working to restore it by the end of the day. Thanks for your patience." - how many people are working on this project?"
-A large number of my classmates and friends are giving any time they can offer around school, homework and extracurricular activities to help me out with this.
"the ultimate aim seems to want to be all things to all people and do it all on a budget of 26p."
-Quite a few students (and teachers :0) have donated to this project through Patreon.
Now it makes sense, is this a school media studies project by any chance or are you trying to be the next young business entrepreneur of the year? I'm just wondering if there's the possibility here with this project you've bitten off more than you can chew?
What I mean about the idents is they have to have some sort of thing behind it.
This logo shape idea works for BBC because they're varying what is making a large circle: kites, hippos, ferris wheel. Most also have a time they're used, you're very likely to see the ferris wheel leading into Saturday night as that's what the night sky, neon lights, etc suggests and not before Homes Under the Hammer.
Seasonal idents are used aswell, you're more likely to see the penguins a few times a day in December than you are tomorrow when they'll use the sunny mowing the lawn ident.
I hope you understand where I'm coming from here but I still see the not doing the homework thing I mentioned. If you want to have your idents based around /s which can be found out and about then have the slash logo come in on top of this slash shape and have the words come in beside it. If you do that to the coat hanger it will improve.
You also need to think about the effect of high production values on the audience. A messy floor with homework doesn't give a very professional image but put this coat hanger somewhere where it means something (take a shop) incorporate some people walking around the shop and film it with nice camera angles and movement and you've got yourself a rather nice ident.
Great advice. I've got some ideas already that I'll work on.

No, it's not a school project. I am getting some help from the IT teachers though. I've been taking some young entrepreneurs classes and have found some support groups through my head of year.
Not often I post in this section of the forum but I thought I'd throw in my tuppence-worth...
We all know this is by no means a pretty looking mock, but the way some are you are treating him is just awful. He's a young boy with a hobby and an interest in TV pres and some of you just seem adamant to tear him a part and rip him to shreds. There's a difference between constructive criticism and being downright vile. Some of you need to find better things to do than scour your way through loads of twitter accounts or webpages in an attempt to find something more to insult.
marshmallow, I couldn't put it better myself. The way in which some people speak to others on this forum is disgraceful. We all have to start somewhere and we should be encouraging ideas and ambition, not slapping people down. Many of the comments posted here are uglier than the worst mocks ever posted.
I completely agree, The Gallery is a place where people should feel they can post new ideas for TV Pres without being treated badly. There are some not so good mocks which unfortunately receive some unnecessarily harsh comments. A lot of you leaving those comments are capable of designing some really good mocks, so you have the experience to help new mockers learn.
Leaving rude comments, some completely unrelated to the original post can make people leave the forum and not want to come back. If you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
This is his first mock. It's certainly not the best mock on here, but that's where we can step in and suggest improvements that can be made, rather than trying to scare new members away like some of you seem to be doing.
I think that some of the people who have commented have done because you posted your work and wanted their opinion - they gave it. The problem with this forum is that instead of genuinely celebrating the unity we have in our love for TV pres, we enjoy somehow destroying a teenager's enthusiasm through the way we form our feedback. Searching through Twitter and finding good ways to scrutinise a teenager just isn't okay.
I do agree with the theme that is running, the mock isn't fantastic and needs massive amounts of work. What it does have, however, is commitment. This is clearly something that you find a passion in and I'm all for supporting someone in developing in an area they feel they can grow and prosper.
Strike a balance between school work and this project - that is fundamental. You will only be given one opportunity to do well at school, this idea can meanwhile develop in your head. Don't rush into producing stuff simply because it's good to see a material development in it, rather take time and invest that passion into the understanding that all good things don't emerge in a day.
Don't let anyone dull your optimism for what you want to do. Keep working away but also remember that at any time you post something you are asking for people's thoughts and so be accepting of that.
In hindsight, I am retracting
all
of what I wrote in my post on page 5 of this thread, and I apologise to Rhys for writing such a post in the first place.
My comments were well intended based on what I knew at the time but follow-up posts from Rhys and some of the comments from others after my post now make it inappropriate. I'm not perfect either.
If this retraction puts me in the minority on TV Forum then so be it.

My version (I tried to do this as a post but the limit -_-)
So, the person called SlashTVUK made SlashTV and I didn't like the design, I made a alternative to that horrible MS Paint look and here it is.

Very good compared to your other mocks.
Two things I'd change would be that the headline strap and ticker are in line with each other and change the shape of the ticker to make it less boring.
