Cheers, Asa

Just a few words to show we are grateful... (January 2007)

Sometimes I feel we on this forum are far too demanding of Asa at times. Its something I've been guilty of in the past, but I think its unjustified.

Just look at this place, its great.

Asa pays for hosting, a domain name and everything. Some people would load a basic copy of phpBB onto a free site host, and it would close down a short while later. But no, Asa has fully customised this site, custom template, loads of mods like mock ratings and region settings. And its still going many years later.

And now he's going to do it again. He's building the new software. Lots of people are complaining that its taking longer than they hoped, but we've got to realise how much Asa has done, and he in no way has to make new software anyway. Yet he's going to.

So thank you Asa for everything you've done for everyone on this board.

I second what you have said. Many people do complain that the new software is taking too long, but delevoping PHP scripts aren't easy, and are time-consuming. We can't expect Asa to be glued to him monitor typing away lines of code, he needs a life.

I agree with the others (and more on that later) but...

We love him? We hardly know him! The only time we actually saw him was on that Liquid News report he put up shortly before TV Home closed down, where he was talking about the new BBC2 idents.

I'm sorry, but you can't just say "We love you!!" to someone you hardly know over the internet. Would you say "I love you!!" to someone you didn't know at all? Well, I wouldn't, but I don't know about you...

Stop trying to be a rant-master.

I say this only to prevent you from looking like a d*ck in later life. It's "hear, hear" as in "I hear you and agree," as opposed to what you've put. Don't worry, it's a mistake that's been made by an awful lot of people on this forum since day one. Bad grammar and spelling sticks to this forum like glue Smile

Good work you've provided us with Asa. I look forward to welcoming the new software on the forum. Keep up the excellent work with TV Forum.

Take as long as you need to make the new software, you have a life too. Once again, keep it up.

Many thanks from Andrew TTTV.
