But there are scant opportunities for laughs in the X-Factor, whereas there are in The Chase, with getting Bradley to read out double meaning questions.

Unless you want one of the male quartet groups in the next series to be called 'The Well Packed Lunchboxes'.. Rolling Eyes
Slightly amusing the first time - but you'd be throwing something large and damaging at the tv screen if he kept falling about laughing by the time we'd dragged ourselves to the third break...

That's why you bring in people who can provide the humour with Bradley Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Ashley Roberts as they did with Britain's Got Talent.

The nature of Britain's got Talent means that its able to take be more comedic, however it would be weird if X factor went down the same route. It needs to take its self more seriously, because there is more at stake, however I would like to see it more relaxed and informal. I feel that if there studio became less of a studio and more of a stage- which would be enhanced if they moved to an actual venue- whether that's a theatre of arena. I am aware that could cause logistical issues and is therefore unlikely but would be awesome!

Bradley Walsh hasn't ever worked in Live TV, a large live audience, and furthermore would be totally out of his depth! I would like to point out that I think it was a massive error of judgement putting Nic Grimshaw on the panel when he would have been more capable that Olly to present the show last year.

Personally, I'd like to see an artist like Jess Glyne take a place on the panel, rather than Sharon Osbourne. I'm a fan of Sharon's, but the show can't constantly go backwards.

Schedule wise, I would like to see 1 hour audition shows on Saturday nights, then move the rest of the show to Sunday nights. Sunday shows always performed better than Saturday shows. Keep the six chair challenge, that rated well and was pretty good.

Bradley Walsh does not suit the audience The X Factor attracts. End of.

I read "Bradley Walsh should host" and just stopped.

Why? He's a good presenter, especially when he gets the giggles.

It's not his genre and would be a waste of his talents. However if Ant and Dec quit Britain's Got Talent he would be a good choice for that as variety is his background. He will be the sole host of Tonight at the Palladium this year.

We have a 'serious' singing competition in the form of The Voice. It would help The X Factor to set itself further apart, become much lighter and more fun. People always say "it's a singing competition, it should be about the singers", but before everything else it's an entertainment show. If it doesn't entertain, there's no competition.

It needs scaling back, a smaller run, shorter episodes and take itself less seriously. It needs a judge who knows their stuff, is funny/entertaining and isn't afraid to put through a few novelty acts for the sake of making the show more fun. Cheryl and Rita are hardly comedy gold and Louis Walsh can't be the only eccentric in the music industry?

I heard they're still using different (yet the same as previous years) hosts, but if Brad got the job, good on him. He was by far the best of all the presenters they had fit that sort of show.

This ITV Press Release is confirming that it is true, which personally I'm a little disappointed with as I felt the show really suited the guest presenter format.

I think the reason why X Factor doesn't work currently is because it takes itself too seriously.

You've got to ask: why are people watching Strictly instead?

Because they have a much lighter judging panel akin to BGT's and people no longer want to see judges fighting over which one of them will 'win'. People also find the presenting much more relaxed compared that of X Factor and many say they find Strictly therefore much easier to watch.

I don't think Bradley Walsh haven't having hosted a live show makes it a bad idea. He has hosted Sunday Night at the London Pallaidum in front of a large audience - that's the Palladium! I'm confident he would be able to cope with a live show and even if he couldn't, people love to see things going wrong on live TV. Look how much Olly Murs's mistake got people talking.

Dalek, for crying out loud, you're ignoring a crucial factor that Bradley doesn't match with the audience The X Factor has. Just because you've hosted a show at the Palladium doesn't mean you should host a show popular with Radio 1 listeners.

With that logic, Sean Lock should host it because he's funny and he's played the O2 to an even bigger audience.
