Well, The Voice is to get it's own 'It Takes Two', complete with Zoe Ball.

The Voice UK: Zoe Ball to present BBC Two spinoff show

The Voice UK will have a BBC Two spinoff series.

Presented by Zoe Ball, the half-hour programme will air live from 6.30pm on weekdays, beginning from The Voice's first live show this year and running up to the final.

The sister show is to provide viewers with behind-the-scenes gossip, exclusive interviews with the coaches and extra live performances from the finalists.

Ball stated: "I'm super excited to be involved in The Voice... Fans can think of me as the nosey, naughty one who can ask questions we all want answering by their favourite acts and, of course, Kylie, Tom, will.i.am and Ricky.

"I shall bring everyone a little closer to the action, and I promise not to sing!"

Wall to Wall's head of entertainment Moira Ross added: "Having a spinoff series for The Voice means we can give fans of the show unprecedented access to everything that goes on behind the scenes and tell the stories we don't have time to cover on BBC One."

Paloma Faith recently claimed she rejected an offer to replace Jessie J as a coach on The Voice.

The Voice UK continues on BBC One on Saturday evenings.

I am surprised at the ratings it still gets, I haven't heard anybody talking about it or posting about it online, like with The X Factor. That advert was enough to put me off.

I've given up on this series after watching the first two. There's something horribly false about the whole thing. I hate the banter between the judges and I hate the fact that they've got more sob stories than The X Factor.

It may be the 'nicer' version of X Factor but as a viewer there's something incredibly unsatisfying about watching a singer give quite a poor performance and then barely receive any criticism from the judges.

And I can't see that spin off programme doing very well given than the ratings for this show always collapse when the live shows begin. In the first series when they had a separate results show on the Sunday they would often not be able to attract even half the audience the Saturday show got so lord knows who they expect to watch a daily spin off.

Really, do you not use twitter?

I don't watch it but my twitter feed is always full of it on a Saturday night. It has totally killed off Splash. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/news/a549942/the-voice-uk-continues-ratings-success-for-bbc-one-with-844-million.html

looking at barb that isn't true.
Also the only 2 Saturday live shows last year rated quite well according to Barb 6.6m and 8m.
Anyway the spin off is only on for 2 weeks

I believe that's what the blue Twitter icon above each of my posts would indicate Wink Yes, but since Twitter lets us follow only the people we want to and not necessarily all family/colleagues, everyone's timeline is biased towards their own interests. So although nobody in my timeline talks about it, that doesn't really reflect general popularity. You can't argue with ratings figures, but I just don't see anyone on the internet or in real life talk about it at all.

I'm not surprised it's beating Splash, since Splash isn't a very entertaining programme. I don't think ITV can wait for Saturday Night Takeaway to return, which is probably still their best Saturday night entertainment programme. Even The X Factor has been a bit weak this past couple years after a peak in 2010.

Seems to feature in the UK top 10 trends every Saturday, often more than once with the #thevoiceuk and specific coach / artist related trend. The first show was still trending 24 hours after being aired, which is quite an achievement.

Appears to have a big following this year.

I've found this series much more entertaining than the last two.

For me, the banter between the coaches (I think they've included more of what they say during the songs) has been much more engaging. It feels like a better team.

And that seems to be reflected in the ratings.

I guess if they only have three live shows again this show will only run for two weeks anyway.
