Quick note. This is a serious discussion so no nasty remarks please.

With Sinn Fein doing so well in the recent election in the Republic of Ireland as well as a majority of nationalists in the Ulster/Northern Assembly, could a SF led government of the future mean that a potentially reunified Ireland some time in the future could lead to UTV ending?

UTV is owned and operated by ITV plc, and will be firmly in place in Northern Ireland for a very long time.

It seems Ne1L C has no clue on Irish politics as a United Ireland is not in the gift of any majority government in the Irish republic ad both Irish and British governments have to agree to a referendum, and also the referendum is not just for those living in Northern Ireland, the people in the republic will also get their say, and there is no certainty that the republic will agree to a United Ireland.

So, all in all it seems Ne1L C is a stirrer and wants to provoke a reaction to a non event - he got his way, let us now ignore it for the rest of this pathetic and redundant thread.

I think this is far too much of a "what if?" question, largely politically based and the discussion on here around UTV's future has become quite repetitive. Thread closed.
