How are UTV dealing with the uncertainties of timing with MayRef. They must be concerned the official declaration is pending bearing in mind the evening peak is imminent and their incoming programming.

Well the result was obvious early on. Neither UTV Ireland nor TV3 covered the final announcement. RTE themselves were quickly off air as soon as it happened as they have the Eurovision at 8 and Their Lottery show had to go out. Coverage does continue on their Website. TV3 News Website doesn't seem to have been updated since last Night.
Tv3 actually did cover the official announcement live from Dublin Castle before cutting back to 'The George' with everyone (including Vincent Browne) chanting Ole Ole!

My god, if they just took the Ireland part out of the logo, they could launch that look for UTV NI and it would instantly look a million times better. It's a nice look for the channel, but hard to believe they run two channels and one looks decent the other utter tripe!
More the dodgy 2006 "emotions" idents than the current ones though. They don't do anything for me really but it's the continuity that sums it up - "Now, live from London we join the Loose Women" pretty much sums it up. Just because they can take most of the ITV schedule doesn't mean they should and they really need to be putting the "Ireland" into UTV Ireland. Obviously the costs involved may be prohibitive at the moment but really think they need to be peppering most Irish content into the schedules to make an impact.
