Considering UTV's current look (and I'd probably say all their previous looks too) are very dated / look dated very quickly after being introduced, I'm not surprised that UTVI's will seemingly follow suit. Expect spinning graphics, lens flares and basic colours and fonts for everything. Really does look like some uni studnets project than a professional television package.
I guess the first listings should be out very soon then if they're launching on January 1st.
Have they got Corrie and Emmerdale from launch day - TV3 listings on Digiguide aren't complete but looks like they're scheduled until Dec 31st then not afterwards. You'd have thought TV3 would be messing about with them a bit so viewers can't simply watch on TV3 one night then UTV Ireland the next.

Many people have access to UTV (NI) or another ITV region currently so if they have them at weird times, people will find them elsewhere.
BBC 1 scheduled the afternoon showing of Neighbours to 2.15 or so for a while before it moved to Channel 5 but left the evening untouched and they could have really messed about with it given the had been outbid by Channel 5 for a programme that they'd spent millions on over the years.
UTV Ireland HD/SD is now testing on Sky, currently it's only showing a silent animated loop with the logo stating that the channel will start on 1st January 2015, as far as I can see for the time being it is unencypted for the UK.
