PLUS the all new and improved TVAM website (January 2018)

This site closed in March 2021 and is now a read-only archive

The all new TVAM website is really worth a look!!

It's an improvement but as far as I can see it's the content of the last version just in a better looking website

No. He's hosted various gameshows nationally, including Sporting Triangles and One False Move.

He filled in on This Morning alongside Fern Britton as well.

I'm sure he presented This Morning with Anna Soubry (ex Central East co-host, now MP) who was already on a slot on the sure. But sure in Richard and Judy times before Fern.

Yes, very much in the early days of This Morning - Craig and Soubry were regular stand-ins in the early days, while the most regular were Stephen Rhodes and Alison Keenan. The show was a bit less glamorous in those days. Craig also presented the "rival" Beeb show Daytime Live.

Of course, while Anne and Nick are the famous couple, there were dozens of other presenters. When Nick left in 1986, initially he was replaced by the reporter Adrian Brown, but after eight weeks it was clear it wasn't working out and he went back to reporting (although unfortunately the 1987 IBA Yearbook went to press during his spell so it's full of photos of him). Then after that anything went on the sofa for a while.

Pleasingly they showed a clip of Anna Soubury from This Morning when she appeared on The Last Leg recently, it doesn't get a mention a lot.

Those were the days when This Morning relied in the other itv companies for some of its strands and reports - Anna being a Central TV presenter she did their soap opera review strand. You say it was less glamorous, until fairly recently it was still classed as 'adult education'

Based on both what I've read here and in "Morning Glory" (Brilliant book BTW) it makes me shudder to think how ITV would have looked if a) TVAM had won and b) CPV-TV had won the London franchise! Shocked

I understand the massive panic involved, but think GMTV could have recovered without the TV-am set introduced in April 93. The sofas were dreadful but everything else was pretty decent and very on trend.
