I don't think the UKTV rebrands post-Dave were quite as successful as they'd hoped, but in my opinion, Dave is one of the best things to have ever happened to Freeview. Its original commissions have been consistently brilliant and it's one of the strongest and most successful rebrands a channel has seen, not to mention some of the funniest idents that are circulating at the moment.
Brekkie, Warbler and Inspector Sands gave kudos

Good news but 10 episodes a series is too many - 8 was pushing it for the last couple and although 5 was too short for the earlier series better to leave viewers wanting more.

Yes I agree, 10 seems too much. They film more tasks than they use so hopefully they won't be tempted to fop with the substandard ones that would normally have been cut

Easily though the best Freeview series outside of the main PSB channels.

That and Modern Life is Goodish , in fact Dave has had a lot of excellent original commissions in the last few years.

Taskmaster has been the most successful, it's been sold abroad including an American version

Has anyone told you that the latest series of Modern Life is Goodish was the last one? (Sorry if this is news to you.)

And back on Taskmaster, there are also Belgian and Swedish versions and our version has been shown in these two countries, plus Germany, The Netherlands, Finland, Australia and New Zealand.

I did know that. He was interviewed by Richard Herring and on that he made it sound like it was more of a hiatus for at least a year, but that was recorded before the series was aired. The amount of work that goes into one episode I'm not surprised, and he's touring for a year.

It is a great series and well worth rewatching

Dave (the man) published a blog shortly after the last episode went out explaining that he had no time to do anything else when he was working on the show, and decided to stop so that he could tour again.

DG and Taskmaster are their best originals ever, I think.

Unspun with Matt Forde is pretty decent too once it found its feet after the first series. And the gaming community are pretty happy that Go 8 Bit is the first gaming-themed British TV show in a long time to not sodomise the industry.

Dave have been on a roll with Modern Life, Taskmaster and Go 8 Bit. Unspun I just can't get into though, it feels so dated compared to The Daily Mash which has started to find it's feet this series.

Taskmaster studio bits for the next series are filming at the end of March.

Dave's original content alone has made it one of the best multichannels out there. Although I'll have to disagree with you on Unspun - the second series really saw it start to flourish.

The Mash Report has arguably done so well for the BBC, particularly with the viral Rachel Parris segments and the now infamous Trump-Morgan caricature that infuriated Piers (and subsequently gave the Mash Report renewed attention). In fact, it's just been renewed for a third series later this year.

Not a fan of Unspun either - just doesn't hit the mark for me.

What put me off The Mash Report was that I'm a big fan of the website it was based on. Watching actors and comedians essentially recite articles on television spoiled it, and the strange combination of "here's some proper news that we'll take the piss out of, but now here's a bit about some silly news" made me feel like the show had no idea what it wanted to be - was it trying to be The Daily Show or was it trying to be The Day Today?

If it's shaken that off since the first series, then good. But I can't really be bothered to sit through an episode to find out.

Alan Davies as Yet Untitled too, though there hasn't been a series for a while so I think it's finished
