AND it has been broadcast, there nothing in any paper work to state when it will be broadcast. Look at AYBS that sat on shelf for ages, there is nothing to say it has to go out.
The main thing that annoyed me about this production of this special was that awful high shot they kept on using when the doors opened and the surprise was revealed.
You couldn't see the instant reaction on their faces. Did feel like the set was not fit for the purpose of the show.
More recently, I believe that there's one episode in the current run of Would I lie to You? that is yet to be broadcast, which has been put in the schedules at least once and then pulled. I can't check right now but I believe it has a listing on the programme page on the BBC website, but no air date despite coming before the Christmas special that has already gone out.
This episode now seems to be airing at 8:30 on BBC One, several months after the main series aired and outside of the usual timeslot for the show. I do wonder why they couldn't air it with the rest of the series - it doesn't look like it's because of a guest that was involved in a news story at the time, which can sometimes lead to things being dropped.

The same thing happened with the 2014 series, it was broadcast between September and October 2014 then a Christmas Special in December 2014 before a new episode in January 2015 which was also pulled from it's timeslot in 2014 and a compilation episode in February 2015.
There's a compilation episode schedule for 27 January.
It was said earlier in the thread that an episode was dropped this time to enable Citizen Khan to finish it's run with the Christmas Episode the Friday before Christmas. Presumably they thought it would do better there in its usual slot than to move it to another in the week leading up to Christmas Day.
