Having been lucky enough to go to a few live shows, Anton seems to really enjoy his involvement with the show: always taking the time off camera to come into the audience and shake a few hands and share a few kisses. I'll be sorry when and if he decides to leave. Although it really is the BBC's flagship show, IMO I wouldn't mind a new shiny set just to give it a bit of a refresh

Was it 2009 or 2010 the current set arrived - know it was around the same time X Factor changed theirs (2009).

They probably don't need to do much more than change the screens at the back of the set now to make it feel refreshed by simply ditching the semi-circles, though it would be a shame for another TV set to basically become a giant TV screen. The judges desk could do with being that fraction longer too - always seems so cramped.

Would be nice if it was a mix of the new DWTS US set and SCD.

2010 I believe. 2009 was still the original set.

Yes, 2009 was the worst series, where they completely botched replacing Arlene (they were probably right to do it, but they handled it so badly), had a bit of a Z-list line-up, got caught up in a race row, suffered a load of injuries and foolishly decided to lose the Sunday show in favour of one big show on the Saturday, at which point The X Factor nipped in on Sundays and promptly exploded. A right mess of a series, and so in 2010 it got a bit of a revamp and has gone from strength to strength ever since.
