Is there any verification that that is true, to me its just a random person tweeting

I don't take that tweet to mean it was scripted anyway, I took it to mean that the accusations were a bit of a joke - ie, they were a bit silly and probably embellished for the programme. Rather than the whole thing being set up, which given the issues they've had with safeguarding trust in the past would seem an unlikely thing for them to do.

According to Twitter that whole bit was scripted anyway - it did seem a bit rehearsed anyway, but that confirms it.

(Here’s the tweet for anyone who wants to see it)

Aside from the reliabliity of that tweet, I can't see where it says it was scripted?

Maybe what they could do is re-edit the takeaway shows to have Ant V Dec, the serial, the End of the Show Show and some of the other live segments like Win the Ads. Would be good for 30-45 minutes on Saturday teatime. They did something like this for Basil’s Swap Shop which they used to air on CBBC, and they did it with the Australian Sunday Night Takeaway (it was called Sunday Night Takeaway: Reheated).

Or going even further back "Waterfront Revisited" with compilations from both series of (one of) Going Live's summer stand-in.

As it was transmitted not long after the second series, the four year old me felt confused as to why Saturday morning had arrived so soon on a Friday afternoon...

I don't really see that happening at all.

ITV have shown the serials in 30 min slots on various Xmases....to fairly small audiences

On a side note, do we think ITV will ever return to making conventional half hour sitcoms? A genre they seem to have abandoned, and sitcoms now seem to be a rarity on British television anymore. Maybe a return to these, properly produced with good material could fill a Saturday night on ITV.

They had one only last year.

They had one only last year.

I can only name three that have aired on the main channel in the past five years - Vicious, Bad Move and Kate and Koji.
